Hair and Nails

Last night I attempted to do my hair. I am not good at styling hair, I'm really bad at it actually. I was trying to get something a little similar to hime gyaru, except not so big and over the top with all the curls. I guess after all that it isn't really himegyaru, but that is where the inspiration came from. It turned out kinda weird, not really the way I wanted. I didn't have enough hair to cover up my ball of teased hair.

Sorry for the bad pic, I didn't have enough light and don't know where my remote release is so it was kinda hard getting a good shot.

I made the headband to go with a causal lolita skirt that is yellow with blue teapots.

I also decorated some acrylic nails the other day with rhinstones. Both hands have the same designs, but I did different designs for each nail. So, both index fingers have the same design, both thumbs, ect. I kept the rhinestones to a minimum, trying to keep the nails simple and elegant. I think the next set I do will be more flashy and will include pink rhinestones.

22 Years

I celebrated by birthday on the 24th, turned 22. I feel a little old, even though I know 22 isn't old at all.

My birthday was no big deal this year, which is fine by me. I have never really liked birthdays. When I was young, 6 or 7, I begged my mom not to have a party and I cried because my mom told me I had to have one. Perhaps it is just parties that I don't like. There must have been some sort of traumatizing event at a birthday party once that I have since suppressed.

Anyways, for my birthday this year my significant other took me to Red Lobster for dinner. They burnt my lobster, served us old wine that tasted pretty much like pure vinegar, and said I was too old to get free dessert. I really wish he would have just let me go to the grocery store and buy ingredients to make a fancy dinner at home. But it's the thought that counts.

I love the gifts that I received. My sister sent me a necklace, assorted tea, and chapstick. My love gave me a bottle of zinfandel, italian spices, and a small ceramic pot. All my gifts are pictured at the top of this entry. The ceramic pot is my favorite! I'm using it as a jewelry box.

So maybe my birthday could have been better in some ways, but that alright. I had fun regardless. Things could have been worse.

Ice Cream Scoop Rings

I made polymer clay ice cream scoops for the first time. I'm very happy with the way they turned out. I made six scoops, turned three into rings, and kept the other three to put on some jewelry boxes. I sent the three rings to Tokyo Hardcore in Albuquerque,NM.

I want one for myself, but I can't find any ring bases that will fit my fingers, not even the adjustable ones. I have really tiny fingers, some people don't even believe me about my ring size; They say they don't make rings that small, which is true, and that is why I have to get them resized when I buy them. I wear a size 3!
Maybe I can find some children's adjustable ring bases, those might fit.

Stationary Designs

Yesterday I was sitting at home, alone and bored. I had been cleaning, but where is the fun in that? So I decided to have some fun in photoshop. I have an addiction to kawaii stationary, but I haven't bought any recently. I'm broke. So I thought "hey, why not make my own?" And that is exactly what I did. I made three different designs, one which I made in both pink and blue (so four in total). Of course I don't have any printer ink, so I can't print them until I make some money. Anyways, here is the results. My favorites are the panda one and the blue cloud one. Each one has the kanji for Tangerine Taiyaki and also says "Hello Sweet Love". I can't wait until I can print them out and start using them!

New Supplies and Decoden Ideas

I bought a new storage box for all my rhinstones and flatback pearls the other day. Its a rectanglur box with 25 little round storage containers inside. Before I had some stackable round containers, but I didn't like them very much. These are much more convienent for me! I love how easy it is to see everything inside.

As you can see I have filled all but one of the containers. I paid $5.00 for the case. It is normally $10 at Joann's, but I had a 50% off coupon. I love coupons so much!
My rhinstones are from Micheals and Joann's, I bought them either on sale or clearance. Sadly they don't sell flatback pearls, so I have to get them online. I bought the hotpink ones from Misssapporo and the others were mixed colour packs from Delish Beads. It took so long to sort out all those colours!

I need to get some new curved tweezers for my decoden projects. I can't find my old ones anywhere. I tried using some straight tweezers, but things didn't go too well. It's much harder with the straight ones, in my opinion.

Next payday I am going to buy a new housing and a clear cover case for my PSP. I want a transparent pink housing and I am going to do some deco on the clear cover. Why not do it directly on the new housing? Because if I don't like it in the future I can just take off the cover case, which is also about half the price of the housing.
I am still working on the deco design, I'm having trouble deciding exactly what I want to do. I will be using pink rhinstones and flatback pearls in assorted shades. I might do a heart design. Maybe if I find some nice gold cabochons I'll add those into the design as well.

Recommended Etsy Sellers- Supplies

Are you looking to buy some kawaii supplies for deco, jewelry, and more? Here are some etsy sellers that I like. I've bought from all of these sellers and was very satisfied. These are sellers that I will return to again and again.

MimiLoLo- Canada based seller. Great selection. Tons of kawaii cabochons. Fast shipping. Offers good shipping discounts for additonal items (i.e.first item $3.30, with another item $0.35)

beautifulwork- Japan based seller. Loads of awsome japanese fabrics. Very nice clay kits. I don't feel that her shipping discount is very good (i.e. first item $4.20, with another item $3.50)

misssaporro- Japan based seller. Great selection of cabochons. She also has really kawaii hair clip bases. First time I ordered from her shipping was very fast, second time was slow because she went on vacation a couple days after I made my purchase and she didn't ship my package before she left. Good shipping discount (i.e. $3.50 for first, $0.35 for additonal)

SupplyPusher- United States based seller. I recommend her for your jewelry findings. Good prices, especially for bulk items. Very fast shipping. Included free gifts with my order. Packaged with care. Good shipping discount (i.e. $2.00 first item, $0.25 with another item)

New Year, New Town

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!
I haven't been online much lately due to the fact that I moved. I left Albuquerque, NM on Dec 30th to come to Texas. This is the first time I've moved out of the state. At first I wasn't too happy about it, but this place is alright so far. The weather is so nice here (although everyone from here complains that it is freezing). Yesterday it was 65 degrees, in January! No need for a coat.

I also love that the bay is only three blocks away from my new place, I can just walk right down there! It kinda smells though, since the bay is so enclosed. I wish I lived next to the ocean! I went there the second day I was here and it was so awsome. I love the ocean breeze! I collected a ton of shells. I'm a little strange about shells, I don't really like them but I absolutely love gathering them.

I'm hoping to find a nice little shop in San Antonio or somewhere nearby that is similar to Tokyo Hardcore back in ABQ. I'll still be selling my jewlery at Tokyo Hardcore, but I would like to try to get my stuff in a shop around here as well. I've tried searching online but so far no luck. Maybe I am using the wrong keywords, but I have tried everything I can think of.

Anyways, beach photos and previews of new products will be posted when I have the chance. I haven't gotten the internet connected at my new home yet, hopefully that will be soon. Until then I will be using the coffee shop's wifi, so my online time will be limited and scarce.
